LoBiondo on offshore drilling

A post here last year observed that Frank LoBiondo supported offshore oil drilling there but not here and Representative LoBiondo has stayed consistent now that President Obama has backed that plan.

Here's the quote in northjersey.com:

But Rep. Frank A. LoBiondo, whose district also includes Shore communities, said Obama’s announcement echoes his own position on expanding offshore drilling. “While my opposition to drilling off New Jersey has not changed, I have supported legislation allowing states to decide if they want to explore off their shores,” LoBiondo said in a statement. “Combined with increased nuclear, solar, wind, biofuels and conservation efforts, expanded offshore drilling will enhance our national security and lead our country to energy independence.”

Senators Lautenberg and Menendez, and Governor Christie came out against the plan.

Incidentally, the reports are that "cap and trade" is considered dead so LoBiondo may be on board with the energy/climate change bill in the end. Note his positive comments here about other energy sources also backed in the bill.
